What could be better than a brand new single, from a favorite Portland artist? How about one named after our very own city! S O N G > Laurel Brauns -"Doldrums "

This song by Laurel Brauns (also known as part of the band Sweet Harlots) comes from her 2011 solo album “House of Snow.” The Portland Mercury called it “a beauteous solo record…destined to become an evergreen.” We agree, and hope you’ll listen to this excerpt from the record and find her just as enchanting as we do! And don’t miss Laurel’s next local performance, at the Edgefield Winery on February 11th.

Community Day – February 6

Record stores were the community centers for many cities and towns around the country, especially in the late ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. They were a place where community in the love of music brought people together. Friendships were made and partners in life were found as people shared their interest and love of music.

On Community Day, there will be free refreshments, special one-day deals, live music, and a variety of unique events at Music Millennium. Monday, February 6 will be the next Community Day and will include the Songwriters’ Circle at 7:00 PM.

Performances by the following musicians:

Elaine Romanelli's music melds lyrical melodies, intimate storytelling, catchy pop choruses, wry humor, and a hint of Celtic lilt...Alexa Wiley plays in local bars and coffee houses throughout the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Massachusetts, Washington, California and elsewhere...and Jack McMahonis a performing songwriter as well host and organizer of the Music Millennium Songwriters’ Showcase.
