KZME 107.1 FM is proud to serve as media sponsor for screening of Searching for Elliott Smith, a film directed by Gil Reyes. Reyes' film traces Smith's evolution from his Lincoln High School days as a National Merit Scholar, to his early work in the Portland rock band, Heatmister, to critical acclaim and his mysterious death at the age of 34. The film features interviews with Gus Van Sant, fiancee Jennifer Chiba, and many others close to Elliott Smith. Gil Reyes will introduce the film.

The film is showing at The Northwest Film Center's Whitsell Auditorium located at 1219 SW Park Avenue in Portland on October 21 at 7 PM.
